What is a yoke coil, which is in a CRT monitor or television? What is the purpose? How Does it work?
It is a rather large coil at the neck portion of the CRT. It is also called a deflection yoke, because it helps deflect the electron beam to cover the entire area of the screen. Yoke is actually an electromagnetic coil driven by the deflection circuit of the display PCB.
