Bird's eye Danube Tower

The Danube Tower is a 252 meter tower overlooking the Danube Park, UNO City and Vienna. It was built in 1964. An elevator will take one to top, which is a cafe and a restaurant for a small fee, and both of those concerns. These are often full, especially in the evening, but you can still catch the light from a lower observation level. On a clear afternoon, one stands a good chance to see from the Alps to Hungary. If you want to take in light of the city, the observation deck is open until midnight. On the way up and, well, going down, you can look up through a glass ceiling of the elevator car and watch the world fall away in just 35 seconds. On top of the tower is a gigantic red tilde (~) form that rotates around the TV antenna, which is the symbol of Bank Austria.

Danube Tower has been part of Vienna's skyline for the past 35 years. It was built as the top attraction of international horticultural exhibition in Vienna. Danube Tower is 252 meters high. By climbing 776 steps, passing 58 small platforms, one can get to the observation platform of 150 metros.

Of course it is less tiring if you take the elevator up, which will have an up to that height in just 35 seconds. Up there, a unique panorama of Vienna awaits you. The view from Danube Tower is particularly impressive by night. Every day until midnight, you can treat themselves to this joy, like the famous Austrian singer Rainhard military officer asks in his song "Have you ever seen Vienna by night?" At altitudes of 160 und 170 meters is 2 revolving restaurants, driven by 2 motors each. Vienna Danube Tower was created by architect Hannes Lintl over Viennese International Horticultural Show. Since then it has become a part of Vienna's skyline and has become a popular lookout point and a tourist attraction. It is situated in the middle of the Danube River Park, which was built to host the horticultural fair in Vienna's 22nd District, Donaustadt, near the northern bank of the Danube. It is one of the tallest buildings in Vienna. The platform also has a bungee site, used at times during the summer. Two revolving restaurants, one at a height of 160 and the second at 170 meters and offers a varied views of the Austrian capital. It takes the platform, either 26, 39 or 52 minutes per revolution. The more daring person can enjoy a spectacular view, while throw into the sky by one of Vienna's tallest buildings. Since 2000 the Danube tower features the highest bungee center of the world.

The Danube Tower also includes antennas for mobile phone networks, private VHF radio stations and several other radio communications services. Despite its similarity to television towers elsewhere, but it is not used for TV broadcasting – The largest television transmitter to the Vienna area is located at Kahlenberg.
