Abc Boise Television Affiliate Kivi Channel 6 and others say Success for the 1st Annual Jamaal al-Din's Hoops 227 Summer Basketball Camp!
Boise, Idaho's 1st Annual Jamaal Al-Din's Hoops 227 Summer Basketball Camp was a great success. With community support from local businesses to cover more media, this may be a possible anticipation of things to come into the city of trees! Over 30 area sponsors support Jamaal Al-Din's Hoops 227, which boasts a creative agenda with at least 5 different countries represented in the 1st annual summer basketball camp, held at Boise's Owyhee Elementary.
Coach Jamaal had children dancing on the pitch during the later part of the day, as many young basketball camps are unheard of, especially in Idaho. Yes, as shown by the coverage shown by the local ABC TV affiliate Kivi Channel 6 News this basketball camp and Coach Jammal Al-Din, were themselves unable to keep Boise's entertained young and happy Naismith's game Basketball, one of our countries national past times, the duration of his two-day basketball clinic.
Countries like Somalia, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Colombia, and the United States was represented by children who participated in the 1st Annual Jamaal Al-Din's Hoops 227 Summer Basketball Camp!
Coach Jamaal participants, 3rd-6th grades, shot an amazing 80-85% from the free throw line, as Jamaal Al-Din learned lessons attributed Baden's "Smart Ball" system advertised on ESPN and NFL Network and developed by his former high school coach, Ed Palubinskas, the former Olympic record holder, LSU great and former free throw tutor of the NBA's 4-time World Champion, Shaquille O'Neal, who now hosts a series on ABC television promoting healthy children!
In the summer of 2007, there were more than 50 youth sports camps are currently advertised for young people in Boise, Idaho and Jamaal Al-Din's Hoops 227 has praise for media coverage is given as a result of allowing nature to be modeled by our nation's AAU coaches and business owners alike! … His camp participants free of charge as a result of such great community support! How else would a group of talented refugee students participating in the camp, which required a solution fee of $ 75 – $ 225 as most do? It was a model structured basketball camp for ada county AAU and others to immulate. Why, because children who are extremely athletic and talented receiving the opportunity to participate in a sporting place that they otherwise would not have been able to participate. The self-esteem which generated by such an event is immeasurable.
Coach Jamaal Al-Din, will not stop there. The same camp participants will be invited back in late August for a FREE School Supply Giveaway, sponsored by Boise area businesses! Now in my mind, this solves two issues. Number one, children from other countries or cultures may have a difficult time with studies and the English language, resulting in summer school will FREE school supplies help the case. And number two, refugee, etc, attend the first day of school with new books and pens similar to those students who later ends up involved our nation's Yale and Harvard universities. Hey, the self-fulfilling prophecy is alive and real and perhaps these children end up doing the same … are Ivy League graduates!
Coach Jamaal is soon to open doors for Boise, Idaho's youth and hopefully others will be inspired, as evident by having one, you must open Boise newspaper (Idaho Statesman) and the community events section of this week, now lists an organization as "Hoops 101" hosting his own free basketball clinic at the end of July, hey Coach, you've done it!
Finally, community and media support was a true compliment to the people of Boise. Randy, local ABC television affiliate Kivi Channel 6 News did an excellent job with coverage. Get this, the guy even went so far as to speak to each participant in the camp, individually! These children had time for a lifetime. And the original date scheduled for an interview with Coach Jamaal was changed from 13 June 2007 to June 14, 2007, which could not have been better timing, because news ended the previous game 4 of the NBA Finals aired on June 14, 2007 anniversary of this special news! Great job Kivi Channel 6 prime exposure of a large case, thanks!
