How Is The American Lifestyle Different From The UK Lifestyle?
I Live In Hawaii,USA And Want To Know What The Differences In Both Of Our Lifestyles Are Besides Us Having A President While Your Country Has A Queen.I Don’t Pay Attention To The UK Stereotypes On American Television,Please Can Anyone Tell Me?Also,Compared To The UK,Do Americans Have An Accent?Is It Easily Recognized?
We do have a queen But… power lies with an elected parliament and the Prime minister
The US accent is very noticeable I’m afraid to say in often heard very loudly in pubs shouting we saved you and other things the individual concerned certainly didn’t do, its also rather grating on the Ears.
I think the US is a lot more insular then the UK and tends to believe in negative stereo types far more and if something is not understood within about a minute its dismissed as stupid.
on the plus side the Americans are more openly friendly, Brits tend to be more reserved and this gets mistaken for coldness when its just ‘privateness’ in public. American culture has a more ‘can do’ attitude which I find a fantastic trait. Apart from that in general the UK is somewhat similar to the US especially compared with the rest of Europe.
